How to apply

How do I apply?
Please contact your prospective host supervisor, which must be listed on this website.
Your host supervisor will submit the application form to CICASP on your behalf, once it is completed.
Are internships still available given the COVID-19 pandemic?
In principle, we are still managing the internship program. However, prospective interns outside of Japan must stay up-to-date with current Japanese immigration policies, which have been dynamic throughout the pandemic. Contact CICASP for details and/or get in touch with your local Japanese embassy/consulate for the most up-to-date information.
Is there financial support for internships?
Depending on the financial situation, we provide basic financial aid to cover living expenses in Japan only. Aid comes as a daily stipend of 2,500yen. Note that only Interns who are affiliated with a university abroad with an Internship period within 45 days are eligible for this financial support.
Are there any requirements for the internship program?
Students who are considering applying to the International Course in Primatology and Wildlife Research are preferable, but it is not a requirement.
What is the duration of an internship?
Internship lengths are flexible but the durations must be determined by the prospective intern and their host.
Is there accommodation?
There are different options depending on your internship location.

In Inuyama, EHUB operates a dormitory on campus. The cost is inexpensive and all bedrooms are private but in most cases bathrooms are shared.
In Kyoto, you will have to make arrangements with your host supervisor.
Accommodations for international students are available at Kyoto University, but availability is limited.
